The goal of pelvic floor physical therapy is to evaluate and to determine the causes of pelvic pain, incontinence, constipation, and/or pelvic muscle dysfunction. A variety of treatment options are used to correct muscle imbalances and/or alignment problems. Treatments may include muscle re-education using biofeedback and corrective exercises.
We use very sensitive biofeedback instruments to provide information to patients about their bodily functions. It has been found to be very valuable in helping to strengthen muscles and its use in the treatment of incontinence is highly successful.
